Food Festival Delivers Record-Breaking Footfall and Sales Figures at Gloucester Quays

Lifestyle Outlets is celebrating a successful weekend as over 116,000 people turn out for its Food Festival at Gloucester Quays, the largest turn out to date.

Lifestyle Outlets placemaking programme delivers events that bring soul and ambience to shopping centres and provide destinations for family days out, footfall to the centre was up by over half (58%) over the weekend with 116,000 visitors across the three days with sales also seeing a considerable increase of nearly 5%.

The event took place on the last weekend in July and showcased quality food and drink produce from across the region with over 120 different vendors attending and was brought to life with live cookery demonstrations from TV chefs such as Phil Vickery, Rosemary Shrager and Dean Edwards all doing demonstrations.

There was also a host of entertainment and activations from the centre’s brands, including Cath Kidston and Joules with plenty of prizes to be won along with performances from DJs and musicians.

The weekend long event backs into Lifestyle Outlets winning formula of delivering high quality events which add to the centre’s unique mix of retail, leisure and experience. It is a strategy that continues to deliver results and bucks the high street trend of declining sales and footfall so much so that Lifestyle Outlets has experienced a 14% increase on sales year-on-year and reached footfall figures of over 12 Million visitors across its two trading sites (Gloucester Quays and Lowry Outlet).

Steph Fisher, Senior Marketing Manager for Lifestyle Outlets said: “We are delighted by the turnout of another successful event at Gloucester Quays this weekend. Over a hundred thousand visitors came to shop and enjoy the market – thrilled to welcome so many people from Gloucester and its surrounding areas came and had a great day out with us. Our roster of events are all about creating amazing experiences and driving footfall to the centre – encouraging people to return time and time again to sample the great dining, shopping and destination as a whole.”
